Len Barker was a young promising pitcher when ’82 began, having thrown a perfect game and led the AL in strikeouts the previous 2 seasons. He had a bone spur on his elbow though, that would bug his arm sometimes, and affect his pitching, and could be why he wasn’t so good later in the year.
Bert Blyleven is the greatest baseball player ever to come from the Netherlands, and possibly the greatest pitcher not in Cooperstown yet. Hopefully that Cooperstown thing changes very soon, ’cause he was truly great…
Who was Dave Rosello? I don’t remember having this card when I was a kid, but I must’ve, ’cause I had all the cards. First thing I notice is that he looks a little like he was trying to be a 1970′s ladies man, and his stats didn’t surprise me.
