#598 Bob Galasso

Bob Galasso sports a nostalgic look for this Mariners card, in what may be the oldest photo in the whole set. He didn’t have much success in the majors, but he did end up winning a championship in Italy.

#413 Dan Meyer

This card features the expression of a man playing for the Mariners in the early 1980′s, who wishes there’d never been an expansion draft. He was a below average hitter, who turned into a slugger against a certain three teams.

#283 Brian Allard

Brian Allard pitched his heart out for a month leading up to the strike in 1981, but then never threw another pitch in the majors again. I have no idea why. You’d think a sub-3.00 ERA for a month would at least earn you one more start.

#52 Larry Andersen

Larry “not AnderSON, but” AnderSEN, spent 1982 pitching for Seattle, where he was a horrible train wreck of a pitcher in his home park. He had a pretty good and lengthy career after that, even pitching solidly in the postseason. And yes, this is the same guy who would someday be traded for a young future HOFer named Jeff Bagwell.
